Donation goes to the Royal Children’s Hospital. \nThere have been several major announcements in astronomy recently\, including a direct image of a black hole\, black holes and neutron stars merging to generate gravitational waves\, and other phenomena\, including fast radio bursts. If you want to know more about these exotic events\, Dr Jeff Cooke will discuss the details behind them and the role of Australians in their discovery. \nRefreshments will be provided. \nThis is a fund raiser event for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
