Experience the wonders of heavens above with our mobile astronomical observatory!

Southern Cross Outreach Observatory Project (SCOOP) is a mobile astronomical observatory designed to travel across states and carry out public astronomy activities. It is equipped with computerised telescopes for daytime solar and night time stellar and planetary viewing. SCOOP has also been associated with National Science Week since 2017, carrying out public outreach astronomy interstate.

In 2018, SCOOP is travelling to regional Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia. SCOOP will be set up at Nangiloc-Colignan District Primary School in Nangiloc on Sunday 19 August 2018 from 1:30pm to 9:30pm for solar and deep sky viewing. Members of public of all ages are welcome. Viewing is free.
