Dr Kimberly Riskas is a marine scientist and science writer based in Melbourne. Originally from California, she completed her PhD in Queensland studying how fisheries impact marine wildlife. She has worked on marine conservation projects in Western Australia, Cape Verde, Costa Rica, Malaysia and the United States.

Her science journalism pieces focus mainly on ecology and the environment and have been published in Cosmos, Hakai Magazine, Sciworthy, The Conversation and others.
