Virtual Excursion to the National Portrait Gallery

13 August 2018 @ 9:00 am17 August 2018 @ 5:00 pm

Free

Can’t make it to the National Portrait Gallery to celebrate National Science Week? Let us come to you on one of our virtual excursions.

Explore some of the change makers in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery. Spend time with one of our live Learning Facilitators and meet some of the scientists, activists and passionate people who strive to create change with their ideas, inventions and research.

Discover – who invented insect repellent?

Discuss – what changes can we make to the world and our community?

See – amazing portraits of astronomers, neuroscientists, mathematicians, astronauts, environmentalists and more!

How does it work?

Virtual Excursions are 60-minute learning programs where your group has access to a Gallery Learning Facilitator via videoconferencing.

You can connect with your:

  • videoconferencing system – e.g. Polycom, Tandberg or similar;
  • classroom PC or Mac with connected webcam and microphone;
  • mobile device(s) – e.g. iPads, Android tablets.

Once you’ve made a booking, the Gallery will email you more information with instructions on how to connect.
