Café Scientifique: The Art of Parasites – Painting a New Image

Join us for this National Science Week event jointly hosted by Federation University, The Art Gallery of Ballarat and The Australian Society for Parasitology for the launch of the stunning artwork Gula Guri mayin “Heal the Body” by Indigenous far north Queensland artist Bernard Lee Singleton and animation by Russell Milledge and Tai Inoue followed by a lively café scientifique discussion that will explore and celebrate the science of parasites and its relation to human health through art.

Federation University researchers Clare Anstead and David Piedrafita will explore how parasites have affected our lives and biomedical animator Drew Berry from WEHI will talk about animating science and the important role that artists have in communicating science.
