Patterson Lakes Primary STEAM Night

13 August 2018 @ 4:00 pm5:00 pm

Free

Science transforms into STEAM! 2018 is our first annual STEAM night at Patterson Lakes Primary. We will incorporate science, technology and visual arts to make it a STEAM experience. All our stalls will be hands-on and informative. There will a sea life display, giant chess, robotics and more! Design challenges will include creating sail cars and water towers.

Our robotics team will present their latest robot dances. Our local high school, Patterson River, have committed to sending a team of students to present some science experiments.

Our chess club will have boards set up to challenge the public, with a giant chess set available for the evening. Our garden group will have a workshop where students test soil and pot their own seedlings. Our environmental science leaders are planning a stall, educating students about marine life. We have booked a sea life incursion (run by ‘Wild Action’) to run simultaneously.

Each stall will address the theme ‘Game Changers and Change Makers’ in their own way. For example, Year 6 have brainstormed that for the barrier reef, climate change and the crown of thorns starfish are game changers.

We are the change makers. All our stalls are designed to be hands-on and informative. Come and enjoy the evening with your family.
